NZCT AIMS Games 2009
The 2009 NZCT AIMS Games National Sporting Championships will be held in Tauranga from Sunday 6 September to Friday 11 September 2009. The event is organised by the four Western BOP Intermediate Schools, Sport Bay of Plenty and Tauranga City Council. The sporting championships gives Year 7 and 8 students an opportunity to compete as an individual or in a team against the best of their age in New Zealand in 11 different sports (basketball, cross country, football, golf, hockey, multi sport, netball, squash, swimming, tennis and waterpolo). Tauranga Arts Festival
The Tauranga Arts Festival takes place from the 22 October - 1 November 2009 (incorporating Labour Weekend). This year marks the sixth occurrence of this growing festival, which this year will include performances by musicians from around the world, professional theatre performances by both national and international artists, edgy Fringe theatre, street performances and much more.
